Job Summary

Aero Gear, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled IT Manager to oversee the Management Information Systems (MIS) department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small internal team and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and execute company-wide technology strategic planning activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operations and activities of the MIS team, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and evaluating performance.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and communication within the MIS team and across the company.
  • Work closely with the MIS team to facilitate management of technology in the planning, installation, and documentation of network topology.
  • Lead company technology projects while building solid relationships with cross-functional team members.
  • Perform network design and capacity planning.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
  • Install and maintain network file servers and network operating systems; ensure that backup copies of all files are routinely made and securely stored at a separate location; maintain system documentation.
  • Provide second-level technical support to users concerning network system operations.
  • Diagnose problems with network equipment and perform equipment repair or upgrades when appropriate.
  • Administer and maintain end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network cabling and other networking equipment such as hubs, switches, and UPS.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network-connected end-user hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Manage security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
Requirements
  • Effective people management skills, including strong communication abilities, high emotional intelligence, and offering timely, constructive feedback.
  • Adaptable and flexible team player with strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in network administration.
  • Strong knowledge in Cisco switch setup and configuration.
  • Strong knowledge in Ubiquiti Wi-Fi setup and configuration.
  • Expertise in managing switches, firewalls, routers, etc.
  • Expertise in network connectivity using Ethernet or fiber.
  • Strong knowledge in network and routing protocols.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, network administration, or a similar field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years leading a technology team is required.
  • Certification related to networking is required.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is strongly preferred.
Supervisory Responsibility

Overall responsibility for the System Administrator and Help Desk Technician.
