Role Summary:

The Accounting Supervisor will report directly to the Manager of Financial Shared Services and will oversee the daily operations of accounts payable and receivable functions, including managing a team of accounting professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily activities of accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Review and post payable and cash receipt batches
  • Document and update financial policies and procedures
  • Prepare, review, and analyze account reconciliations
  • Investigate and resolve old liabilities as necessary
  • Approve new vendor setups and modifications to the vendor master file
  • Oversee weekly check and ACH processing
  • Ensure timely month-end close and submission of expense accruals
  • Assist in resolving purchase order discrepancies and review vendor account statements
  • Manage the company’s credit card program
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members
  • Encourage continuous improvement and adapt to change
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Supervisory Duties:

  • Directly manage a team of accounting clerks
  • Execute supervisory responsibilities in line with organizational policies and legal requirements
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; recognizing and addressing employee concerns; and resolving issues.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • Outstanding leadership and management skills

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; three to five years of relevant experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
