We are in search of a Lead Gameplay Programmer for our Project Fantasy. Our advanced engine technology, Glacier, plays a crucial role in our success. Designed for efficiency, it incorporates visual scripting and hot-reloading capabilities, facilitating a data-driven WYSIWYG game development process. This innovative engine allows for rapid iterations in content creation, adjustments, and debugging through a highly-optimized Runtime Resource System, a robust Live Editor, and an on-demand Asset Pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in various core gameplay areas, including:
    • Procedural content generation
    • Gameplay and narrative progression systems
    • Character mechanics, camera controls, and input systems
    • Item and weapon design
  • Primarily utilize C++ to develop code, systems, and visual components for our designers within Glacier, our proprietary technology, using our integrated Visual Scripting Language.
  • Collaborate with adjacent technology teams, particularly in animation and multiplayer domains.
  • Work closely with a game development team, collaborating with programmers, designers, and content creators to enhance the game while adhering to the vision set by the Game Director and the guidelines established by the Technical Director.
  • Support and mentor fellow gameplay programmers across the studio to strengthen our shared codebase and develop robust systems that align with our long-term technological objectives.
  • Provide constructive feedback during one-on-one sessions with team members and foster their growth through coaching and mentorship.

Candidate Profile:

  • Extensive experience in gameplay programming within a AAA title, preferably in a multiplayer context, demonstrating leadership capabilities in a senior role.
  • Proficient in C++, with a solid understanding of industry best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with implementing gameplay features as outlined above.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various functions.
