Job Title: Part Time Vascular Access Team Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Vascular Access Team Nurse to join our team at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

About the Role
  • Provide high-quality patient care through the application of the nursing process, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate vascular access sites and devices to ensure optimal care and minimize complications.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and consultant to other healthcare professionals, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Guide and supervise assigned nursing personnel, collaborate with other healthcare professionals, and coordinate with ancillary staff to ensure seamless care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultation, education, and/or assistance to staff regarding management of vascular access devices, ensuring compliance with established protocols and best practices.
  • Perform ongoing assessment and process improvement to ensure quality in care and services, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with pain management techniques for vascular access insertions, prioritizing patient comfort and well-being.
  • Ensure all peripherally inserted central catheter program staff are trained in charge entry and balancing, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in documentation in relation to vascular access care and treatment, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in nursing, with a strong background in pediatric care and vascular access devices.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, with a focus on pediatric nursing or a related field.
  • Experience in pediatrics and vascular access devices, with a strong understanding of the latest techniques and best practices.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment, with Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
