Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Vascular Access Nurse to join our team at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide direct and indirect patient care through the application of the nursing process, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating vascular access sites and devices.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage vascular access sites and devices, including peripherally inserted central catheters and intravenous sites
  • Provide education and instruction to patients and families on vascular access care and management
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to vascular access
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in nursing
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia or through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Experience in pediatrics
  • Experience with vascular access devices, including lab draws, port access, and dressing changes
