Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Vascular Access Team Nurse to join our team at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the safe and effective management of vascular access devices.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate vascular access sites and devices, including peripherally inserted central catheters and intravenous sites.
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care through the application of the nursing process.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and consultant to other healthcare professionals for the care of children.
  • Guide and supervise assigned nursing personnel, collaborate with other healthcare professionals, and coordinate with ancillary staff.
  • Develop and revise policies, procedures, and guidelines related to vascular access.
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in nursing.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia or through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Experience in pediatrics.
  • Experience in vascular access devices, including lab draws, port access, dressing changes, declotting central lines, and removal of central lines.
