Position Summary:
The System Designer II serves as a crucial technical resource for both sales and operational teams.

This role involves actively leading and managing the assessment and validation of systems and materials, collaborating closely with sales and operations as the primary technical advisor.

The System Designer II must effectively communicate technology and product positioning while establishing and nurturing strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle with both sales and operations.


The responsibilities include designing intrusion detection, security, CCTV, and access control systems in line with established sales and operational protocols.

This role entails receiving project specifications from sales representatives and creating system markups.

It also involves selecting or validating the optimal mix of products and installation methods to deliver the most cost-effective solutions that meet customer needs.

Additionally, the System Designer II acts as a technical resource for sales and operations team members and participates in meetings to ensure the accuracy of sales estimates and job layouts as needed.

Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Sales and Technical staff to interpret project specifications and drawings, determining system layouts.

- Engage with vendor partners as necessary.

- Coordinate with other departments to address customer inquiries or complaints.

- Resolve questions and issues related to assigned areas raised by customers promptly.

- Build and maintain client relationships by providing timely and accurate services to enhance customer loyalty.

- Review plans and specifications prepared by external firms (e.g., MEP or FPE).

- Conduct takeoffs and prepare counts of equipment and devices from floor plans.

- Monitor and manage support services, including the maintenance of project documentation such as contracts, revisions, estimates, work drawings, and specifications.

- Be prepared to work extended hours to meet project timelines.

- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education/Certification:
- An Associate's degree in Electronics or a related technical field, or equivalent experience, is preferred.

- Previous experience in commercial security systems design is required.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A working knowledge of low voltage communication systems is essential.

- Experience with PDF markup tools (Bluebeam preferred) is necessary.

- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.

- A minimum of 3 years of industry experience is preferred.

- Knowledge of current and emerging technologies relevant to the company’s offerings is expected.

- Strong decision-making skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail are crucial.

Abilities:
- Ability to read schematic and construction plans is preferred.

- Proficiency in interpreting architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints, along with a solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical control systems, is important.

- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and modify approaches as needed is essential.

Pay and Benefits Disclosure:
The salary range for this position is competitive and based on experience and qualifications. Certain roles may be eligible for annual bonuses and equity options, allocated based on individual and company performance.

We provide access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan with company matching, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellness benefits, and paid time off, among other offerings.

Employees accrue up to 120 hours of paid time off in their first year, with an increasing accrual rate thereafter. We also offer six paid holidays.
