The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and controlling all North American power ledgers and trial balances, as well as maintaining, modeling, analyzing, and implementing hedge accounting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and control all North American power ledgers and trial balances
  • Maintain, model, analyze, and implement hedge accounting
  • Conduct technical accounting research and analysis on structured transactions, complex derivative positions, and investments
  • Set up, control, and process, and system integrate with respect to new power business lines
  • Prepare and submit ISO financial reports and ensure compliance
  • Support statutory and group-level audits and prepare legal entity financial reports
  • Prepare audited and unaudited financial statements for North American legal entities
  • Provide financial support for commercial power trading activities in North America
Requirements
  • Chartered or Public Accountant certification preferred
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with financial and management accounting in multinational companies, including multi-GAAP and multi-currency
  • Good understanding of IFRS, particularly in the areas of derivatives, revenue recognition, and inventories
  • Experience in the commodities business or energy trading is a preference
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work to multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Accuracy is essential
  • Ability to use technology effectively, especially multiple general ledgers systems, consolidation and reporting systems, BI-tools, and Excel
