Position Overview
The Lead Accounting Specialist will execute daily accounting tasks to ensure precise and timely financial reporting.

This role will involve gathering, analyzing, and monitoring all financial data (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Balances, etc.) and providing insights to upper management and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will possess the capability to engage with various team members across all levels in a dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility, resourcefulness, proactivity, and professionalism while maintaining confidentiality.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Implement process automation initiatives, such as Accounts Payable automation, to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Examine monthly interest statements, accurately code and record accruals, and ensure timely payment of all due statements.
  • Post general and adjusting journal entries as required.
  • Collaborate with management in preparing tax returns and audit documentation.
  • Generate and maintain reports while participating in special projects as needed.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely receipt of payments.
  • Raise awareness of financial implications that can be addressed or mitigated.
  • Accurately process payables while adhering to sales and use tax regulations relevant to the project jurisdiction.
  • Assist with ad hoc and specialized reporting as requested by stakeholders.
  • Perform additional administrative tasks as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience required.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online.
  • Familiarity with construction job costing principles.
  • Strong understanding of accounting terminology and functions, including journal entry preparation and comprehension.
  • Exceptional skills in Microsoft Excel are essential.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to follow directions, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced work environment with repetitive tasks.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and integrity in all professional interactions.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as necessary.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000, depending on experience.
