Job Summary

Aston Carter is seeking a skilled Tax Preparer to join our team. As a Tax Preparer, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals and companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review tax returns for individuals and companies, including income tax returns, sales tax returns, and other tax-related documents.
  • Identify potential tax credits and liabilities, and ensure accurate and complete returns are filed in a timely manner.
  • Complete tax forms in accordance with policies and in compliance with legislation and regulations.
  • Prepare or assist in preparing simple to complex tax returns for individuals or small businesses.
  • Help taxpayers by using their federal, state, and local codes and ensure they receive the maximum benefit permitted under the law.
  • Uncover potential deductions and credits.
  • Review financial records, such as income statements and documentation of expenditures.
  • Verify totals on past forms for accuracy.
  • Prepare tax returns using electronic filing software.
