This role involves representing the organization in communications with clients from the initial stages through the entire project lifecycle, as well as in post-agreement marketing activities. The Project Manager will also coordinate with the Resource Center Manager and Account Manager regarding project status and performance, while effectively managing the project team.


Key Responsibilities:
To excel in this position, candidates must fulfill the following essential duties:

  • Engage in initial client marketing discussions, provide marketing assistance, and support presentations. Participate in negotiations and proposal formulation.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of project financial matters, including budgets, multipliers, agreement terms, scope changes, billing processes, and settlements. Schedule and document all meetings, ensuring follow-up on decisions made.
  • Assess team staffing needs and collaborate with relevant RCMs to fulfill these requirements. Delegate authority and responsibilities as necessary, including appointing an assistant project manager. Ensure proper maintenance of project files and reporting. Monitor progress and take corrective actions when team performance deviates from the established plan. Ensure compliance with contractual arrangements and monitor product quality, design, and technology.
  • Make final decisions regarding team technical performance in line with contract requirements and company policies, seeking additional resources in case of disputes beyond personal expertise.
  • Supervise the daily activities of the project team and subcontractors involved in assigned projects.
  • Responsibilities may include interviewing prospective employees, training staff, planning and directing work, evaluating performance, addressing complaints, and managing disciplinary documentation with guidance from Human Resources.
  • Review and approve weekly employee time and expense reports; co-develop employee goals annually; evaluate annual performance; and periodically monitor individual progress towards career objectives aligned with company goals.

Position Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in a relevant field such as environmental engineering, civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, geological engineering, geology, environmental science, or earth science is required. A master's degree is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of related experience or training is necessary.
  • A valid driver's license and personal transportation are required, along with the ability to travel for project site visits, meetings, data collection, and training. Travel requirements may vary based on project needs.
  • For engineers, Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is required, while Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure is encouraged.
Active involvement in ongoing education and professional societies is expected.

  • Attend industry and technical conferences and participate in relevant professional organizations. Engage in company interest groups, mentorship programs, and prepare presentations as needed.
