Role Summary:

As a Survey Party Chief, you will take charge of field survey teams, managing and executing diverse surveying assignments while ensuring the integrity and thoroughness of survey data. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in land surveying, outstanding leadership capabilities, and a dedication to achieving superior results.

Key Duties:

  • Facilitate effective and precise data acquisition.
  • Conduct boundary, topographic, and construction staking surveys according to project specifications.
  • Utilize and maintain surveying instruments, including total stations, GPS devices, and data collection tools.
  • Execute field calculations and validate survey data for precision and completeness.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and team members to meet project objectives.
  • Mentor and train survey crew members, offering insights on surveying methods and best practices.
  • Adhere to safety standards and company protocols during fieldwork.
  • Maintain meticulous and organized field documentation, including notes and sketches.
  • Assist in the development of survey reports, drawings, and other deliverables.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements and technologies to improve surveying practices.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in surveying or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Survey Party Chief role.
  • Proficient in operating surveying instruments, including total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
  • Solid understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication abilities.
  • Capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel to project locations as necessary.
  • Familiarity with relevant surveying software and applications.
  • Awareness of local and state regulations pertaining to land surveying.
