Safety Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Safety Manager to join our dynamic organization, Advanced Roofing. As a Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the health, well-being, and safety of our employees, customers, and the general public.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform weekly site visits to high-hazard areas to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Track and distribute Job Safety Evaluations (JSEs) to department managers on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure all field employees are trained in fall protection and complete the Safety Orientation course before their start date.
  • Coordinate and conduct work-specific training for assigned departments.
  • Track and schedule training for employees, subs, and departments using our Performance Management Software.
  • Review safety coordinator hours worked per week for accuracy and report corrections or approval by Monday.
  • Oversee and ensure accuracy of documents created by Safety Coordinators.
  • Review in-dash cameras for safety compliance.
  • Track safety infractions monthly and report results during the Driver Safety Committee Meeting.
  • Oversee and approve safety purchase orders and ensure competitive pricing.
  • Communicate deficiencies and corrections with the Construction Manager, Foreman, Department Manager, and employee for feedback and coaching.
  • Schedule and conduct the weekly Safety Coordinator meeting and monthly Driver Safety Committee meetings.
  • Attend all safety-related meetings to provide feedback and guidance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Construction Management.
  • 5+ years of Safety Management experience.
  • 5+ years of overseeing a team of 5 or more employees.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements and recommendations.
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate personnel to build a functional safety team.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
  • A strong work ethic and high level of self-motivation.
  • Leadership skills and ability to work with other departments and leaders.
  • Osha 500 Certification.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification.
  • Certified Construction Health and Safety Technician (CCHST) Certification.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

  • Full-time onsite.
