We are seeking a Medical Care Provider to join our Morning Pointe team.
Job SummaryThis is a full-time/part-time position responsible for administering medications as prescribed by the resident's physician. The successful candidate must hold a High School Diploma or GED and be a licensed C.N.A. Upon successful completion of the medication aide course, the candidate must have certification of passing the medication aide competency exam for the State of Tennessee.
About the RoleThe Medical Care Provider will administer prescribed medications to residents and maintain related medical records under supervision of a licensed nurse or the DON. They will verify the identity of the resident receiving medication and record the name of the drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms or records.
The ideal candidate will have experience in senior resident services, health care, or customer service and possess strong verbal and written communications skills. A flexible work schedule is also a necessity.
The estimated salary range for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
Responsibilities- Administer prescribed medications to residents and maintain related medical records under supervision of a licensed nurse or the DON.
- Verify the identity of the resident receiving medication and record the name of the drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms or records.
- Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication, using specified procedures.
- Takes vital signs or observes resident to detect response to specified types of medications and prepares report or notifies designated personnel of unexpected reactions.
- Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered.
- Maintains a clean and organized medication cart and medication room.
- Holds a High School Diploma or GED.
- Licensed C.N.A.
- Certification of passing the medication aide competency exam for the State of Tennessee.
- Experience in senior resident services, health care, or customer service.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- A flexible work schedule.
This is a heavy physical job that requires exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift/move objects. Functional requirements include constant standing and walking. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, turning, and stretching. Finger and hand dexterity is required. Visual and hearing acuity is essential. The ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions is necessary, and the ability to perform basic mathematical computations is required.
