The Culinary Education Specialist plays a pivotal role in enhancing the success of a CSC Generation store by motivating customers throughout their culinary exploration.

This position combines culinary skills with teaching abilities to assist the Resident Chef in achieving business objectives. The Culinary Education Specialist reports directly to the Resident Chef.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads and guides team members to ensure exceptional customer service standards are upheld.

Delivers an outstanding cooking class experience at every session using provided recipes and plans.

Maintains up-to-date product knowledge, utilizes available training, and seeks additional resources as needed.


Ensures rigorous sanitation and cleanliness standards are upheld throughout the experience by keeping both work and guest areas tidy and organized.

Guarantees that all food items are prepared and served at the appropriate temperatures and under sanitary conditions.

Collaborates as part of a high-performing team to meet the store's sales targets. Strives to achieve personal and/or class sales objectives.


Models and ensures that all CSC Generation policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are effectively communicated to team members, maintained, and consistently adhered to.


Provides real-time coaching and performance feedback to Kitchen Assistants and addresses performance issues directly with the Resident Chef.

Seeks opportunities to boost cooking class and retail sales.

Records hours worked accurately in accordance with company policy.

Proactively identifies and resolves issues by taking decisive action and following up with the Resident Chef.

Exhibits exceptional verbal and written communication skills with team members, customers, field management, and corporate offices.

May be responsible for handling, serving, and pouring alcoholic beverages and/or mixing ingredients for cocktails and other drinks.

Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Resident Chef.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members and customers.

Ability to remain stationary for extended periods, up to 3 hours.

Ability to navigate the workspace while coaching and directing employees or engaging with customers.


Ability to accurately distinguish flavors and aromas using taste and smell.


Ability to perform physical tasks such as reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching to demonstrate, retrieve, and replenish merchandise and cooking equipment.


Ability to use hands for various culinary techniques such as chopping, whisking, slicing, stirring, and juicing.


Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate classes at various times throughout the day, week, and year.

Ability to operate computers, POS systems, keyboards, merchandise scanners, and mice to complete tasks.

Regular and reliable attendance is required.

Ability to lift and/or move kitchen equipment and merchandise weighing up to 35 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Involves working with open flames and/or heating units, with exposure to varying kitchen temperatures.



EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1-2 years of experience in kitchen operations.

Culinary degree or equivalent Sous Chef experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Demonstrated experience in teaching and training.

Valid Food Handlers / Food Managers Certification required.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is preferred.

Proven ability to drive sales and motivate teams.

Strong communication skills are essential.
