Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement programs that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents, including those with Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
  • Collaborate with residents to identify their hobbies, interests, and goals, and create personalized plans to support their engagement and participation.
  • Plan and coordinate safe and enjoyable trips to local attractions, such as art galleries, theaters, and music venues.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of our monthly calendar, newsletters, and memos to residents.
  • Provide support and guidance to residents in their daily lives, promoting independence and autonomy.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident interactions, activities, and progress.

Requirements:

  • One year's prior experience working with seniors, preferably in an assisted living or long-term care setting.
  • At least 6 months of experience in recreation or event leadership, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to changing circumstances.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field preferred.
