Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team at Lakeland Hospital St Joseph. As a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our patients and their families during this critical time.
Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, taking into account the patient's medical history, physical condition, and personal preferences.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, fetal heart rates, and other relevant data to ensure the health and well-being of both mother and baby.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and document patient responses and outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in Labor and Delivery nursing.
- Associate's degree in Nursing upon hire required.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing within 5 years required.
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed healthcare role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) upon hire required.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association within 1 year required.
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification (C-EFM) - NCC National Certification Corporation Birthplace within 2 years required.
- AHA Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Labor and Delivery within 1 year preferred.
