Chair, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Surgery is seeking a highly accomplished and visionary academic cardiothoracic surgeon to lead our Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. As the Division Chair, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and growth of our clinical, research, and education programs, while fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:- Leadership and Management: Provide strategic vision and direction for the Division, ensuring alignment with the Department's goals and objectives.
- Clinical, Research, and Education: Develop and implement plans to enhance clinical services, research initiatives, and educational programs, with a focus on attracting and retaining top talent.
- Faculty Development: Foster a culture of mentorship and professional growth, supporting the development of junior faculty and promoting their success.
- Collaboration and Partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including health system leaders, clinicians, and researchers.
- Terminal Degree: MD, DO, or equivalent.
- Clinical Experience: Proven track record of success in clinical practice, research, and education as an academic cardiothoracic surgeon.
- Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, with a strong record of achievement in academic and clinical settings.
- Research and Education: Established reputation for excellence in research and education, with a focus on cardiothoracic surgery.
