We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiothoracic Surgery team at UW Health University Hospital. As a critical care nurse, you will provide high-quality care to patients on our acuity adaptable unit, ensuring a positive commitment to meeting patient and family needs.
Responsibilities- Deliver care with a mixture of technological expertise and a commitment to patient and family needs.
- Be an integral part of a team that provides care for patients requiring specialized care for cardiac and thoracic surgeries and procedures, heart and/or lung transplants, medical devices, and various cardiovascular medical diagnoses.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison.
- Must have experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area (3 or above).
- Must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years.
- Must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
- Successfully completed traveler assignment (13 weeks).
- Must be able to work the schedule posted in the job description.
- Travelers are the first to float. Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization.
- During the traveler's assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
- UW Health is moving away from using outdated file formats for Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Profiles need to be submitted in.docx,.xlsx, and.pptx file types.
