Academic Psychiatrist

Position Overview: The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is actively seeking a dedicated psychiatrist for a full-time faculty role. This position is available at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher and encompasses a variety of responsibilities including clinical practice, supervision of trainees, and educational duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical care in adult outpatient psychiatry.
• Engage in inpatient adult consultation liaison psychiatry.
• Supervise and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students.
• Participate in departmental and university service activities.
• Contribute to teaching and educational initiatives.

Qualifications: Candidates must possess an MD or DO degree or equivalent, with board certification or eligibility required. Completion of an accredited residency program is mandatory, along with any necessary sub-certifications or training as dictated by state regulations. At the time of employment, candidates must hold a valid medical license in Tennessee and possess a current DEA certification number.

Work Environment: This position requires on-site work, and while relocation is not a prerequisite, the successful candidate must be prepared to engage fully with the academic and clinical community.
