Academic Psychiatrist

Position Overview: The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is actively seeking a dedicated psychiatrist for a full-time faculty role. This position is available at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher and encompasses a blend of clinical responsibilities, supervision of trainees, and educational contributions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical care primarily in adult outpatient psychiatry.
• Engage in inpatient adult consultation liaison psychiatry.
• Supervise and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students.
• Participate in departmental and university service activities.
• Contribute to teaching and educational programs.

Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree or equivalent.
• Board certification or eligibility is required.
• Completion of an accredited residency or equivalent as permitted by state law.
• Sub-specialty certifications or additional training are highly preferred.
• Must possess current licensure as a physician in Tennessee and a valid DEA certification number.
• Eligible for malpractice insurance.

Work Environment: This position requires on-site presence, and while relocation is not mandatory, it is essential to engage with a diverse group of trainees and faculty.
