Position Overview

We are seeking a proficient Chiller Mechanic with experience in commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors to join our dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of experience with chillers, demonstrating expertise in maintenance protocols, troubleshooting, and overhauls of medium to large tonnage chillers across various brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage primary service accounts and execute contract maintenance visits, inspections, and site assessments.
  • Address service requests and recommend essential upgrades or repairs to extend the lifecycle of customer equipment.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and colleagues through effective communication.
  • Provide estimates for labor and material repairs and upgrades as required.
  • Act as the primary customer contact, ensuring satisfaction by diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer locations.
  • Utilize advanced software and technology, along with various hand tools and rigging equipment, to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Uphold the highest safety standards and maintain accountability for company-issued assets.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team to deliver exceptional service, which may involve flexibility for overtime and weekend work, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as part of our 24/7 service commitment.

Qualifications

Candidates should have:

  • Three years of experience in commercial, industrial, and/or institutional environments with various chiller types, compressor technologies, control systems, and speed drives.
  • Mechanical Journeyman status.
  • Membership in Local Union 286 or willingness to join.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and handheld computing devices.
  • Appropriate licenses for working with refrigerants, along with boiler and steam operational knowledge.
  • Availability for on-call duties during nights and weekends on a rotating schedule.

This position is part of a Bargaining Unit.
