This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of patient care. As a Charge Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Receiving and reviewing charge documents for accuracy and coordinating with front office staff on payment and billing issues
- Entering charges into our practice management system
- Balancing Charge Summary to tickets keyed before finalizing and updating charges in the system
- Extracting information from medical records, operative notes, hospital admissions, consults, progress notes, and discharges to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Assisting with identifying quality issues with registration and scheduling activities
Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
- Managing and maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Coordinating with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely billing
- Identifying and resolving billing discrepancies and errors
- Providing exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Minimum of 1 year of coding, billing, and/or charge entry experience in the healthcare field
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding
- Familiarity with third-party billing requirements and payment policies
