Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Reconciling accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank accounts, and inventory sub-ledgers.
  • Preparing payroll setups, submissions, reviews, and journal entries.
  • Calculating finance charges, commissions, bonuses, and other financial metrics.
  • Tracking fixed assets and computing depreciation.
  • Assisting the CAAS client team with the preparation of client financial statements.
  • Downloading and recording transactions from banks and third-party applications, ensuring accuracy.
  • Completing analysis projects as assigned.
  • Preparing sales tax, payroll tax, and property tax returns.
  • Understanding accounting and operational challenges faced by clients in various industries.
  • Working accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision while adhering to budgets and deadlines.
  • Managing various client engagements in a timely and professional manner.
  • Meeting the administrative requirements of engagements.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and knowledge:

  • Ability to conduct fundamental accounting research.
  • Proficiency in identifying and resolving transactional accounting issues.
  • Strong project management skills to ensure timely completion of multiple client engagements.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and Bill.
  • Willingness to learn various accounting software applications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.
  • Effective time management abilities.
  • Skills in building client relationships.
  • Collaborative approach with clients, CAAS department, and firm staff.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
Education and Certification

Applicants should have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (mandatory).
  • CPA/CMA certification or candidacy (preferred).
Work Environment

Working conditions include:

  • Standard business hours from Monday to Friday, with core hours from 10 AM to 4 PM. Flexibility to work beyond regular hours may be required.
  • Participation in continuing education programs to stay updated on industry changes.
  • Essential functions involve sitting at a desk, using a computer for extended periods, and communicating via telephone with clients and the public. Minimal lifting is expected.
