Job SummaryThe Patient Service Technician is a critical role in our organization, responsible for delivering and picking up equipment from homecare patients. This position requires a high level of customer service, technical expertise, and attention to detail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Equipment Delivery and Pickup: Deliver and pick up equipment from homecare patients, ensuring timely and efficient service.
- Equipment Setup and Training: Set up equipment and instruct patients on its basic use, providing clear and concise guidance.
- Scheduling and Organization: Schedule and organize daily deliveries and pickups according to geographic territory, ensuring optimal routes and efficient use of time.
- Regulatory Compliance: Comply with all applicable regulatory requirements, including providing necessary documents and adhering to hours of service, daily log, and vehicle inspection and maintenance regulations.
- Paperwork and Record-Keeping: Complete necessary paperwork, including daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms, reimbursement documents, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, responding to patient inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain daily vehicle maintenance logs and incident reports, ensuring vehicles are in proper working condition and performing preventive maintenance on a timely basis.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency delivery calls as needed and on an on-call basis, providing critical support to patients and customers.
- Education and Experience: Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is required, with at least one year of related work experience.
- Age and Driving History: Must be at least 21 years of age or older at the time of hire, with a minimum of three years driving history.
- Certifications and Licenses: Must possess a valid Driver's license and successfully complete Apria Healthcare's Driver Training Program.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business principles and practices.
- Problem-Solving and Analysis: Ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
- Communication Proficiency: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Personal Effectiveness and Credibility: High level of personal effectiveness and credibility in a fast-paced environment.
This position requires frequent travel by plane and automobile, with occasional exposure to dust, fumes, and odors. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate, with occasional exposure to higher noise levels requiring the use of hearing protection.
