About the Role:

Wing is seeking a Financial Operations Leader to become part of our Finance team, working remotely in the US. In this pivotal role, you will be a key figure within our finance department, responsible for managing all accounting functions, ensuring precision in financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards and policies, internal controls, and adherence to GAAP regulations. You will play an essential role in shaping strategic financial decisions and ensuring compliance with regulatory mandates. As a collaborative team player, you will work alongside other teams at Wing and Alphabet, promote best practices, and lead a dynamic accounting team while being ready to assist when necessary. This position demands a unique combination of technical accounting knowledge, strategic insight, leadership, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker and an exceptional manager who actively engages their team, providing opportunities for leadership, growth, and excellence. You will operate swiftly while maintaining attention to detail and utilize your problem-solving abilities to support Wing's business goals.

What You'll Do:
  • Oversee accounting operations, including the generation of periodic financial reports, maintenance of a robust accounting records system, and a comprehensive set of controls aimed at risk mitigation.
  • Guarantee the accuracy and promptness of financial reporting and compliance with GAAP principles.
  • Simplify intricate accounting topics into clear, concise executive summaries for senior management.
  • Lead the development and execution of accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Act as a project manager, guiding cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of finance-related initiatives.
  • Dedicate time to thoroughly comprehend the complexities of our advanced tech business model and its implications for financial management and strategy.
  • Provide proactive, exceptional cross-functional support to various departments, embodying a customer service mindset.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, inclusivity, and professional development within the finance team.
  • Serve as the primary accounting liaison coordinating with Alphabet on compliance and accounting operations (e.g., Treasury, Tax, Technical Accounting, etc).
  • Supervise compliance with stock administration activities.
  • Collaborate with FP&A to produce monthly and quarterly Forecast vs. Actual reporting.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to protect assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Work with FP&A on the annual budgeting process and support ongoing financial performance analysis.
  • Coordinate external audits, ensuring timely completion with minimal disruptions.
  • Evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to senior management to facilitate informed decision-making.
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in accounting or strategic finance roles.
  • 7+ years of experience in people management.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Controller or similar role within a tech or high-growth industry, showcasing a deep understanding of technical accounting and financial management.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation with mastery of GAAP and extensive experience with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex accounting topics into understandable summaries.
  • Outstanding project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A proactive, responsive approach to cross-functional support and collaboration.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset, focused on supporting and enabling the success of other departments.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is the salary range below + bonus + equity + benefits. Wing's salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.

Salary Range

$192,000-$270,000 USD.
