The University of Minnesota's Division of Hematology, Oncology & Transplantation is seeking a distinguished classical hematologist to assume a key leadership role within the Division as Section Head of Classical Hematology. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in classical hematology research, mentoring, and training, with clinical expertise in classical hematology and experience in basic and/or translational research.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage the Classical Hematology Section, comprised of nine early, mid-, and late-career faculty members.
- Assume responsibility for the Hematology T32 Research Training Program, a 46-year-old program funded by the National Institutes of Health.
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient clinical care of classical hematology patients.
- Teach hematology-oncology fellows, residents, medical students, graduate students, and advanced care providers.
- M.D., MD/PhD, D.O., or equivalent degree, with Board Eligibility or Certification in Hematology.
- Demonstrated excellence in patient care, medical education, mentoring, and strong teaching skills.
- Excellence in Academic and Clinical Leadership, with a strong track record of research funding.
- Tenure, tenure-equivalent, or tenure-eligible per institutional criteria.
