Job Summary

As a clinical psychiatric assessor, this position provides psychiatric assessment services, including clinical evaluations, crisis intervention, and referrals. This role interfaces closely with the medical staff, fellow department members, and administration, treatment team/external case managers/managed care organizations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric assessment services, including clinical evaluations, crisis intervention, and referrals.
  • Interface closely with the medical staff, fellow department members, and administration, treatment team/external case managers/managed care organizations.
  • Work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Communicate effectively with external review organizations or comparable entities.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, mental health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
  • Working knowledge of the Mental Health field.
  • Licensure: R.N., L.P.C., L.P.C.C., L.S.W., or L.I.S.W.
Work Environment

Clean, well-lit environment. Intake coordinators can sit or stand for long periods of time. High stress active work environments. Continuous low voices and office machine noises.

Additional Requirements
  • Trained in Non-violent physical crisis intervention and CPR prior to accepting independent assignment or released from orientation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Diplomacy and discretion are essential.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities.
