Position Overview: RN Manager Med Surg Ortho FT Days

As the RN Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing nursing performance and ensuring high-quality patient care within the designated unit and shift. You will monitor financial and operational aspects while supporting the strategic vision of the department. Your role will involve regular communication with patients, staff, and management, as well as effective change management and team development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care based on patient needs, adhering to established protocols and standards.
  • Conduct financial assessments of departmental reports and implement actions to meet productivity and budgetary goals.
  • Manage departmental budgets and participate in the development of future financial plans.
  • Implement HR policies related to recruitment, compensation, and staff management.
  • Provide leadership and set clear expectations for nursing staff and Clinical Nurse Leaders.
  • Facilitate staff development and competency assessments.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching for improvement.
  • Ensure accurate billing processes and compliance with departmental charges.
  • Oversee recruitment efforts and retention strategies for nursing staff.
  • Authorize financial requests and manage departmental resources.
  • Lead special projects and coordinate departmental initiatives.
  • Engage with Information Systems to enhance departmental operations.
  • Participate in hospital-wide committees and initiatives.
  • Conduct regular rounds to engage with patients and staff.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and achieve clinical outcomes.
  • Facilitate departmental meetings and ensure effective communication.
  • Oversee the orientation and training of new staff members.
  • Promote educational opportunities and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain adequate supply levels and operational efficiency.
  • Develop a strategic plan for patient care delivery within the unit.
  • Support business development efforts aligned with hospital goals.
  • Monitor departmental performance and recommend enhancements.
  • Ensure readiness for regulatory surveys and compliance audits.
  • Communicate and model the values of Carondelet St. Joseph's Hospital to all associates.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing the needs of all stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Licensure/Certification:

Required: Current RN License in Arizona. Certifications may vary by department.

Education:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field.

Work Experience:

Required: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Strong skills in team building, problem-solving, data analysis, and strategic planning are essential.

Preferred: 5 years of relevant experience with 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
