POSITION SUMMARY:
As an HVAC Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the comfort and safety of our educational facilities.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Possession of a valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • A high school diploma is mandatory.
  • A minimum of four years of hands-on experience with commercial HVAC systems or relevant technical certification from an accredited institution.
  • EPA Universal Certification is required; candidates may be granted up to 90 days to obtain this certification upon acceptance of the job offer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • HVAC certification or specialized training is advantageous.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems within facilities.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience in K-12 educational environments is preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

FACILITY MANAGEMENT:
  • Support the maintenance department in providing exceptional facilities that enhance educational experiences.
ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE:
  • Exhibit behaviors that foster a positive work environment.
  • Assist in the implementation of departmental goals and initiatives.
  • Contribute to the advancement of the district's mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate effective communication with staff and school personnel.
FACILITY IMPROVEMENT:
  • Conduct programming and on-site repairs to enhance the learning atmosphere.
  • Support collaborative efforts to achieve the district's objectives and strategic plans.
  • Maintain effective communication channels among department and school staff.
  • Generate necessary reports to improve facility maintenance.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT:
  • Assist the HVAC Foreman and Supervisor in departmental operations.
  • Provide support to campuses regarding facility maintenance issues.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and automation challenges.
  • Assist in optimizing HVAC efficiency through repairs.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required to enhance maintenance operations.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of district policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination with various campuses.
  • Support meetings involving departmental, campus, and administrative staff.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
  • Seek and respond to feedback from peers and supervisors.
  • Take personal responsibility for professional growth through development opportunities.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and logical reasoning.
  • Continuously update knowledge of the district's facilities and maintenance practices.
  • Adhere to professional communication standards.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Indoor and outdoor settings; exposure to noise from equipment; regular contact with dust, fumes, and other materials.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Frequent walking, standing, crouching, and lifting.
  • Occasional handling of objects weighing up to 75 pounds; ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Use of tools requiring dexterity.
  • Regular operation of light vehicles.
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail over extended periods.
EQUIPMENT UTILIZED:
  • Power tools, hand tools, pneumatic tools, drills, saws, shears, snips, refrigerant gauges, multi-meters, testers, leak detectors, man lifts, scaffolds, ladders, and communication devices.
