POSITION SUMMARY:
As an HVAC Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the comfort of our educational facilities.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Possession of a valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • A high school diploma is mandatory.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in commercial HVAC systems or a technical certification from an accredited trade school or college.
  • EPA Universal Certification is essential; candidates may be granted up to 90 days of employment to obtain this certification following an accepted job offer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • HVAC certification or relevant training is advantageous.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Proficient understanding of mechanical and electrical systems within facilities.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience working in K-12 educational environments is preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

FACILITY MANAGEMENT:
  • Support the maintenance department in providing exceptional facilities that enhance educational experiences.
ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE:

  • Assist in the implementation of departmental goals and initiatives.

  • Generate necessary reports to improve facility maintenance.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT:
  • Assist the HVAC Foreman and Supervisor in departmental functions.
  • Provide support to campuses for facility maintenance issues.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and automation challenges.
  • Assist in repairs to optimize HVAC efficiency.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required to enhance maintenance operations.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:
  • Maintain an understanding of district policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination with school campuses.
  • Support meetings with departmental, campus, and administrative personnel.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

  • Continuously update knowledge of the district's facilities and maintenance practices.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work may involve both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to noise from equipment and various environmental conditions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Frequent activities including walking, standing, crouching, and lifting.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 75 pounds; ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Utilization of tools and equipment requiring dexterity.
  • Regular operation of light trucks or vans.
  • Ability to maintain focus on tasks for extended periods.
EQUIPMENT UTILIZED:
  • Power tools and hand tools.
  • Refrigerant pressure gauges and multi-meters.
  • Testing and leak detection equipment.
