Job Summary

Yale University is seeking an experienced RF Engineer to join our team at the Yale Magnetic Resonance Research Center. As an MRI RF Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing novel low-cost MRI systems, with a focus on transmit and receive RF coil design, preamplifiers, and other receive chain electronics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop novel low-cost MRI systems, with a focus on transmit and receive RF coil design, preamplifiers, and other receive chain electronics.
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers on the construction of a novel low-cost MRI device.
  • Contribute to defining the direction of research design and prepare project designs and cost estimates.
  • Direct and manage research support services for University-wide research.
  • Meet with clients and evaluate problems and define scope of projects.
  • Determine and develop material specifications and purchases.
  • Assign design projects to staff and ensure technical effectiveness and manage departmental operation for research support services.
  • Monitor project schedules and assign billing charges.
  • Ensure the quality of the design of research instruments and consult with research committees on research instrument designs.
  • Develop and monitor department budget and administer and oversee short and long-term department goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and seven years of related experience in a research development facility or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience with RF coil design in MRI or related fields, particularly for low frequency.
  • Expertise in receive and transmit chain electronics, both design and fabrication.
  • Excellent team player, ability to collaborate, and communicate effectively in a team setting.
  • Proficient in integration of multiple design elements in completing a system application.
  • Demonstrated track record of strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to keep on track and meet deadlines, provide feedback on process, yielding high productivity.
Working Conditions

The work will be in-person, onsite, at the Yale Magnetic Resonance Research Center, Cedar Street, New Haven, CT.
