Key Responsibilities- Assist healthcare providers in examination and treatment of patients by performing various duties, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and documenting medical records.
- Populate electronic medical records with accurate and timely information, including allergies, medications, and social history.
- Conduct point-of-care tests and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional working relationship with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
- Assist with front office duties, including check-in, check-out, appointment scheduling, and answering phones.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of an accredited healthcare program, such as Medical Assistant, CNA, LPN, EMT, or equivalent work experience.
- Maintain certifications per state guidelines.
- Nationally recognized as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) strongly preferred.
- Strong computer skills and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Some MA experience required.
- Current BLS card.
- 1-3 years of experience in OBGYN or similar healthcare setting.
- Athenahealth practice management system experience.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to walk, sit, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
