POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a key contributor, you will be responsible for the design and enhancement of extrusion control systems. This role involves supporting the assembly checkout processes on the shop floor, ensuring that all specifications are accurately met. You may also assess systems, components, or processes for efficiency and reliability to facilitate successful project outcomes.

  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop control systems tailored for continuous web handling machinery in accordance with client specifications.
  • Collaborate on design and drafting tasks under the mentorship of senior engineering staff.
  • Assist in the creation of Bills of Materials (BOMs) alongside design teams.
  • Oversee the contributions of junior design engineers and coordinate with the engineering team to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Provide support for assembly, procurement, and field-service inquiries.
  • Engage in Project Team meetings to review contracts and project designs.
  • Travel may be required up to 10% for client engagements, vendor discussions, and system commissioning.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by the Controls and Electrical Engineering Manager.
  • Knowledge of ISO management systems such as ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 is advantageous.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in controls and electrical systems design within industrial automation is preferred.
  • Proficient in control system design, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and test plans.
  • Experience with high-speed servo systems and variable frequency drives (VFDs) is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs is essential.
  • HMI programming skills using platforms such as RSView ME/SE or Wonderware are required.
  • Understanding of SCADA systems and their operational requirements.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

COMPENSATION: $70,000 - $95,000 based on experience.
