Job Summary

As a key member of the Engineering Services department, this role will provide technical support for the Salem Power Uprate Project. The successful candidate will perform duties as a System/Commissioning Engineer for the power uprate for Salem Units 1 and 2.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the required scope of work and explore alternative solutions for modifications.
  • Sponsor plant modifications through the plant approval process.
  • Lead the system engineering effort for modifications.
  • Ensure adequate systems integration and serve as a subject matter expert for plant systems.
  • Support changes to the Preventive Maintenance and Surveillance Program.
  • Identify critical spare parts.
  • Support Operations and Maintenance technical procedural changes.
  • Prepare and/or support factory and plant startup testing.
  • Interface with the Project Manager to ensure engineering deliverables meet project goals.
  • Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing, and as-built verification.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements, including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation, and supporting analysis.
  • Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Engineering Manager.
Requirements
  • BS Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Controls, or related Engineering or related technical degree with 13 years of experience performing related Engineering work in a nuclear power plant or related industry.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical system engineering.
  • Availability for shift work during installation.
  • Must meet Nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access.
  • Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR).
  • Thermal performance modeling and monitoring experience.
  • Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state).
