Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Mechanical Systems Commissioning Engineer to join our team at PSEG. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful commissioning of mechanical systems in our nuclear power plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the required scope of work and explore alternative solutions for modifications.
  • Sponsor plant modifications through the approval process.
  • Lead the system engineering effort for modifications.
  • Ensure adequate systems integration and serve as a subject matter expert for plant systems.
  • Support changes to the Preventive Maintenance and Surveillance Program.
  • Identify critical spare parts.
  • Support Operations and Maintenance technical procedural changes.
  • Prepare and/or support factory and plant startup testing.
  • Interface with the Project Manager to ensure engineering deliverables meet project goals.
  • Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing, and as-built verification.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements, including License Amendment Request preparation and supporting analysis.
Requirements
  • BS Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Controls, or related Engineering or technical degree with 5 years of experience in related engineering work in a nuclear power plant or related industry.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in controls system engineering.
  • Availability for shift work during installation.
  • Must meet Nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access.
  • Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Desired Qualifications
  • Power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR).
  • Prior Design Engineering configuration control qualification.
  • Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state).
