Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both phlebotomy and medical billing and coding. This dual-role position is crucial in ensuring our patients receive the best care and that our administrative processes run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Phlebotomy: Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture procedures to obtain blood samples, ensure proper labeling and handling of specimens, maintain a clean and organized phlebotomy area, and adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Billing and Coding: Accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10 and CPT codes, process insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines, and maintain detailed and accurate patient billing records.
Qualifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience with medical billing and coding preferably in a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems.
  • Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) and medical billing software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
