Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at AdventHealth Medical Group East FL. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians in providing medical care to patients of various ages, adhering to professional standards and hospital policies.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, and assist with these tasks as needed.
  • Administer oral and parenteral medications and immunizations as directed by supervising physicians and as permitted by state law.
  • Maintain accurate medication and immunization records.
  • Organize and review incoming test results, forwarding them to physicians as necessary.
  • Perform electrocardiography, respiratory testing, phlebotomy, and other clinical tasks as required.
  • Assume responsibility for inventory management, ensuring adequate levels of clinical supplies and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Provide control and maintenance of bio-hazardous waste and sharps, and ensure proper consents are signed prior to procedures.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with an externship.
  • Medical Assistant certification from a recognized organization, such as AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, NAHP, AMCA, ARMA, or NRCMA.
  • BLS/CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the medical/healthcare field, with experience communicating with all levels of staff.
