Florida SouthWestern State College is seeking an exceptional faculty member to join our team of dedicated professionals in the School of Business and Technology. As a Professor, Architectural Design & Construction Technology or Civil Engineering Technology (Thomas Edison Campus), you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the college's mission to inspire students to 'Dedicate to Graduate.'
The School of Business and Technology offers diverse Workforce Education and academic program offerings, including College Credit Certificate programs, Associate in Science degree programs, and Bachelor of Applied Science programs. Disciplines include Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Criminal Justice, Crime Scene, Paralegal, and Public Safety Administration.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A doctoral or master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in the teaching discipline or a master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline).
- A doctorate in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution of higher education is preferred.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the subject area to be taught and currency in the discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to use technology in creating and delivering course content.

Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in ECE or related field with 12 ECE credits, preferred.
- Current center-based preschool CDA with 12 ECE credits, and enrolled in a program that will lead to an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in ECE or related field to be completed within three years of the time of hire.
- Have access to reliable, insured transportation.
- Must have or obtain and maintain CT child care first-aid, infant and child CPR, and medication administration certification.
Additional Requirements
- Provide a TVCCA Staff Statement of Good Health signed by a physician, physician's assistant, or nurse practitioner.
- Provide a written report of negative tuberculin test.
- Be able to lift and/or carry a child up to 50lbs.
- Have the credentials to obtain a Connecticut Head Teacher License from the Department of Public Health.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Be able to work 35 hours/week, 40 weeks/year.
