Job Opportunity: Senior Data Analyst for Actuarial Reporting

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance is seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our globally focused Actuarial Reporting team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for enhancing our analytics and reporting capabilities, collaborating with various functions across the organization, and driving projects and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize SQL to identify, extract, interpret, and analyze data for reporting purposes
  • Engage with actuaries and business units to understand reporting requirements and translate them into meaningful output
  • Drive reporting initiatives across multiple platforms for various audiences to support business needs and underwriting results
  • Perform data validations and reconciliations between various sources and reports with precision and attention to detail
  • Coordinate and implement the integration of various data sources to a central repository through sound testing, documentation, and execution of strategy
  • Provide technical support to actuaries and underwriters using a combination of tools needed to best complete each task

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 4+ years of analytical experience, preferably within the insurance industry
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel required
  • Experience in Azure Data Factory, PowerBI, R, and Python programming preferred
  • Familiarity with data modeling and experience working within complex data environments
  • Proven track record of collaboration across functions delivering quality results in an efficient manner
  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for analyzing large volumes of data to generate insights
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and on teams
  • Strong desire to learn from and share knowledge with teammates
  • Effective time management, with the ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time

The base salary range for this position is from $80,000 to $120,000, along with annual bonus eligibility. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
