Job Description

At Sarah Bush Lincoln, we are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapy Clinical Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Respiratory Care Services, you will be responsible for providing clinical education, serving as a consultant, practitioner, and researcher, and serving as a role model and resource for our Respiratory Therapy Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the performance of annual competencies for the Respiratory Therapy department.
  • Consolidate materials and information needed for clinical education and create tools to implement the learning process.
  • Coordinate student schedules in the R.T. area.
  • Demonstrate clinical and didactic competence while providing educational experiences for students.
  • Facilitate high standards of respiratory care.
  • Facilitate the orientation of R.T. students and send appropriate paperwork to HR regarding student documentation, immunizations, etc.
  • Manage an environment that promotes students' self-esteem, dignity, safety, and professionalism.
  • Monitor and maintain documentation of Respiratory Therapy continuing education and life support requirements for Respiratory Therapy Staff.
  • Monitor and evaluate student performance and progress.
  • Perform adult endotracheal intubation in accordance with physician order and/or code blue protocol.
  • Promote effective team relationships.
  • Provide patient and family teaching, utilizing available resources.
  • Provide patient care by administering respiratory care treatments and educating patients with cardiopulmonary disabilities, injuries, and/or diseases.
  • Recommends and assists with Respiratory Therapy related in-services and educational programs for other hospital departments, including the PSO program.
  • Recommends and assists with RT department in-services and educational programs pertinent to RT personnel.
  • Serves as a liaison between the Health System and various allied health organizations and programs.
  • Serves as a liaison between the RT department and Respiratory Care higher education programs.
  • Serves as a resource to R.T. staff and students.
  • Utilizes Respiratory Therapy theories as a basis for instructing students, providing an environment conducive to learning.
Requirements
  • AA (Required), AS (Required), BS
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days - Sarah Bush Lincoln
  • BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire - Sarah Bush Lincoln
  • CCRN - Acute/Critical Care Nursing (Adult) - American Association of Critical Care Nurses
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist - Sarah Bush Lincoln
  • Neonatal-Pediatric Specialty within 12 months - Sarah Bush Lincoln
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification within 1 year - Sarah Bush Lincoln
  • PALS must be completed within 1 year - Sarah Bush Lincoln
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification - Sarah Bush Lincoln
