About the Role

The Pricing & Valuation Specialist will be responsible for creating complex security financial models internally and by third-party valuation vendors utilized by Virtus mutual funds, ETFs, and UCITS/QIFs administered by Virtus Fund Services. This position will ensure accurate security valuations are complete in daily NAVs. Additionally, the specialist will assist in designing and implementing the valuation control structure overseen by Virtus Fund Services subject to regulations of the Investment Company Act of 1940.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with third-party pricing vendors and subadvisors to develop suitable valuation models for complex instruments not listed on an exchange used in daily fund NAVs.
  • Document, test, and report on changes in pricing vendor methodologies according to SEC rule 2a-5 requirements.
  • Interact with the fund Treasurers, the Valuation Committee, and the Board of Directors regarding complex security valuations including derivatives.
  • Support the onboarding process of new products or security types concerning their impact on daily valuation and regulation considerations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance and 3-5 years of relevant experience; Private equity or private credit products experience is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in private securities valuation modeling is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the mutual fund industry, regulatory environment, complex investment types such as derivatives, and key impacts on pricing and valuation.
  • Able to multitask and handle multiple complex items under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with SQL, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word.

Estimated Salary Range: $95,000 - $118,000

Salary range may vary based on education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and market data alignment. This role is eligible to participate in a company incentive plan.
