Coarc is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team in Hudson, NY. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and empathetic individual to provide support and assistance to individuals in our community-based programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with individuals, their families, and other stakeholders. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community-based settings.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, their families, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist individuals with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Support individuals in achieving their goals and outcomes, including education, employment, and community involvement.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including therapists, doctors, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Document and report on individual progress and outcomes, as required.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid NYS Driver's license or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
