Position Summary:

We are in search of a seasoned Financial Accountant with expertise in Accounts Payable to enhance our finance department. The successful candidate will manage the complete month-end closing process and oversee accounts payable, while also executing various accounting functions to support the financial operations of the organization. This role demands exceptional accuracy, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to work autonomously while juggling multiple responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Management of Accounts Payable:
    • Supervise the entire accounts payable workflow, including the examination, categorization, and posting of invoices and credit card statements.
    • Guarantee prompt and precise payment of all vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and other financial commitments.
    • Maintain vendor relationships and swiftly resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Reconciliation and Financial Reporting:
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts related to accounts payable.
  • Prepare monthly accruals and assist with the month-end closing activities.
  • Generate and analyze accounts payable reports to ensure precision and adherence to company policies.
  • General Accounting Functions:
  • Participate in maintaining the general ledger, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial statements and various financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and organizational policies.
  • Process Enhancement:
  • Identify and implement improvements to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting processes.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.

Audit and Compliance Support:

  • Assist with both internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Ensure all transactions comply with relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum of an associate degree in accounting required; a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of accounting experience with a focus on accounts payable. Experience in a corporate or large organizational environment is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Experience in real estate accounting is advantageous.
    • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Proficient in property management software, preferably Entrata.
    • Strong MS Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Working Environment:

  • Office Setting: This role typically operates in an office environment equipped with standard office technology. Occasional overtime may be necessary during peak periods.
