Position Summary:

We are in search of a skilled Senior Financial Accountant with extensive experience in Accounts Payable to enhance our finance department. The successful candidate will oversee the complete month-end closing process and manage accounts payable duties, alongside various accounting responsibilities that support the financial health of the organization. This role demands exceptional accuracy, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to operate autonomously while juggling multiple tasks.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Management of Accounts Payable:
    • Supervise the comprehensive accounts payable workflow, which includes the assessment, categorization, and posting of invoices and credit card transactions.
    • Guarantee prompt and precise payment of all vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and other financial commitments.
    • Foster relationships with vendors and swiftly address any discrepancies or concerns.
  • Reconciliation and Financial Reporting:
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts related to accounts payable.
  • Prepare monthly accruals and assist in the month-end closing activities.
  • Compile and analyze accounts payable reports to ensure accuracy and adherence to company standards.
  • General Accounting Functions:
  • Participate in maintaining the general ledger, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial statements and various financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
  • Process Enhancement:
  • Identify and execute process improvements to boost the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting operations.
  • Assist in the formulation and upkeep of accounting policies and procedures.

Audit and Compliance:

  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and assistance.
  • Ensure all transactions adhere to relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A minimum of an associate degree in accounting is required; a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of accounting experience with a concentration in accounts payable. Experience in a corporate or large organizational context is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Experience in real estate accounting is a plus.
    • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Proficient in property management software, preferably Entrata.
    • Strong skills in MS Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Working Environment:

  • Office Setting: This role typically operates within an office environment equipped with standard office tools. Occasional overtime may be necessary during peak periods.

Physical Demands:
