Duke University Hospital seeks a Pediatric Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team. As a member of our Respiratory Care team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Administer oxygen, aerosolized medication, and other respiratory therapies as prescribed by physicians.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including pulmonary function studies and cardiopulmonary procedures.
- Assure correct set-up, safety, and function of all equipment and supplies necessary for patient care.
- Provide education to patients, families, and healthcare teams on respiratory care and disease management.
- Completion of an AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree or equivalent).
- North Carolina State Licensure or Provisional License, and Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and any other applicable certifications.
Work involves contact with patients of all ages, family members, physicians, nursing, and other healthcare teams. Work is performed in all areas of the hospital, including the Intensive Care Nursery, Pediatric Cardiothoracic ICU, and Pediatric Emergency Room.
