Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Public Safety Communications Officer to join our team at Kennesaw-ga. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for receiving and responding to incoming calls to our 911 communication system, dispatching emergency services and law enforcement personnel as needed, and providing critical support to our community during times of crisis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls to our 911 system, providing critical information and support to callers.
  • Dispatch emergency services and law enforcement personnel as needed, ensuring timely and effective response to emergency situations.
  • Log incoming calls and dispatch information into our automated system, maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Monitor radio frequencies, weather radios, and other communication systems to stay informed and provide critical support to field personnel.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including data entry, record-keeping, and report preparation.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and the public to coordinate work activities, resolve issues, and provide critical information.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by experience in customer service, data entry, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
