Librarian III

The Cobb County Public Library System is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Librarian III to serve as a Branch Manager. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong understanding of library operations, customer service, and community engagement.

• Supervise and manage a team of librarians and support staff to ensure excellent customer service and efficient library operations.
• Develop and implement programs and services to meet the needs of diverse community populations, including seniors, non-English speakers, veterans, and individuals with special needs.
• Collaborate with community partners to promote literacy and lifelong learning, and to develop strategic partnerships that benefit the library and the community.
• Manage the library's collection, including selection, processing, and maintenance of materials, as well as overseeing the cataloging and processing of new materials.
• Develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies to promote library services and programs, and to increase community engagement and participation.
• Provide training and support to staff on library policies, procedures, and technology, and ensure compliance with library standards and regulations.
• Monitor and analyze library statistics and performance metrics to inform decision-making and improve library services.

• Master's degree in Library Science from an American Library Association (ALA)-accredited program.
• At least two years of experience as a librarian in library operations, with a minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
• Current State of Georgia Public Librarian Certification.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to build strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders.

• Experience working in a lead or supervisory role, with a focus on staff development and training.
• Knowledge of library technology, including integrated library systems and online resources.
• Experience with marketing and outreach strategies, including social media and community engagement.

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and deadlines. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment, and to build strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
