Our company supports a broad spectrum of clients across various sectors. Reliable transportation is essential for travel to client locations.

Capturing all facets of this role can be challenging in our industry, particularly within the managed services sector, but we will strive to provide clarity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring all clients are treated with efficiency and respect.
  • Proficient in designing, constructing, migrating, and maintaining:
    • Corporate networks and systems, including hardware.
    • Windows Server environments and Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy.
    • Secure and resilient infrastructures, including antivirus solutions, firewalls, and high-availability setups.
    • Maintenance and troubleshooting of financial applications, such as Quickbooks, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Sage 300 ERP, or similar.
    • Microsoft Exchange and email security/filtering systems.
    • Office 365 - managing licenses and administration of common applications like OneDrive, Teams, and SharePoint, along with support for office software.
    • MS Azure - Familiarity with Azure Active Directory and related cloud services.
  • Additional technical responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
    • Managing and executing projects to meet client expectations and deadlines.
    • Providing guidance to Systems Engineers on both remote and field teams.
    • Configuring and managing Windows Servers and Exchange Servers using PowerShell.
    • Administering, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading VMware server environments.
    • Administering, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop environments.
    • Administering and configuring NAS and SAN technologies from various vendors.
    • Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network devices - routers, firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and SSL-VPN setups from various vendors.
    • Providing disaster recovery and backup solutions using various tools.
    • Diagnosing and resolving unique issues with application software and operating systems.
    • Maintaining a detailed inventory of installed software, managing software licenses, and creating policies for upgrades.
    • Collaborating with hardware and software vendors to ensure timely product delivery and installation.
    • Documenting procedures, standards, best practices configurations, settings, installation sequences, and rollback instructions.
    • Regularly communicating with team members and stakeholders.
    • Assisting in the development and mentorship of other systems engineers.

Essential Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Extensive experience with Windows Server environments.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental networking principles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of architecting and configuring Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise with VMware and Citrix XenApp.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Possession of a vehicle, valid driver's license, and flexibility to travel to client sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • A strong and logical troubleshooting approach.
  • Physical capability to handle heavy equipment.
  • Experience in providing high-level executive desktop support.
  • Previous experience in a managed services environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with specific products is a plus.
