Job Summary

The New York Power Authority is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer II to provide technical support to our generating plant and transmission substations throughout the State of New York.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist senior staff and supervisors on electric utility design modification projects, equipment applications, and failure research.
  • Provide on-site technical support and ensure deadlines are met as assigned by supervisors.
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines and departments for the successful development and execution of projects.
  • Gather information from site, vendors, and other engineers for engineering tasks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
  • Good understanding of power system theory and exposure to the electric utility industry.
  • Basic understanding of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Requirements
  • Approximately 25% travel within NY State.
  • Willingness to enter confined spaces and climb/scale power system apparatuses.
